Between the PCS moves across country or even overseas, to the difficulty of locating childcare at each new duty station; a flexible job is not easy to come by. Freelancing provides a unique opportunity to be your own boss. You get to make your own schedule and focus on writing topics based on your own experiences and interests. The question is how to get started making money.
In this show, my guest Lizann shares her story and tips about becoming a successful freelance writer. Lizann Lightfoot is a Marine Corps wife and mother of 5 children. She has been writing professionally on topics related to the military community for over 4 years and has self-published two books. Her blog, The Seasoned Spouse, receives thousands of visits each month and Lizann’s writing has been published by major outlets such as Military Spouse Magazine and Military Families.
She is sharing her story behind becoming a freelance writer and best practices for those interested in getting their start.
